Understanding Cross-border Payouts (Canada)

Hoping this is a good place to post this question.

I’m using Connect based in Canada, and I’m trying to understand cross border payouts. Are Connect platforms based in Canada able to pay out to connected accounts in other countries at all? Or am I limited to only paying out to Connected accounts based in Canada?

Hello @crayden - cross border payouts are currently only supported for US based platforms. See the documentation here: Cross-border payouts | Stripe Documentation

Thanks David. Any plans or timelines you can share for when Cross-border payouts may become available in Canada?

Any update on this? I’m also a platform in Canada, and shocked cross-border payouts aren’t supported from Canada.

hiya, yeah i would have assumed that cross border payouts for market places would have been baked in from the beginning no matter where you company is incorporated. For example we’re a UK based business and want to onboard vendors worldwide, or where stripe allows and then pay these vendors via the checkout. We really don’t want to have to become a PayFac or MoR. Would be great if Stripe could open this up to other regions not just the USA. Also to add to this I hope that the new MoR features you will eventually role out will be applicable to vendor marketplaces, it would take so much of the burden off vendors and platforms! :D)
